Gotlands Fjordhästförening (GFF) startades våren 1975, cirka ett halvår efter att familjen Horwitz och ett 20- tal fjordhästar flyttat till Gotland från Orust Bohuslän. GFF är en avels - och intresseförening och medlem i Svenska Fjordhästföreningen.
